just put a second hand prop on my discovery, and need to know what to fill it with and how?
-
Props arent filled with anything...theres only the hardy spicers and the sliding joint that have to be greesed at times...

Yep, just pump grease into the UJs and the sliding joint. You might find yourself wishing that you'd done that before bolting it on...
There's not a lot of space to get a long greasegun in - I usually have to resort to shuffling mine forward and back on the drive to put the nipples in a location where the gun can clip onto them.
-
If you cant get the nozzle of the grease gun on, it may be worth filing two flats on the nozzle. That will make it a lot easier to get the nozzle and nipple to engage, if you see what I mean!
-
Whatever you do. Don't try to fill it. Sliding section only need a couple of pumps of the gun, too much grease in there can cause problems.
