That's nice, but is it road-legal :?
I've always had a softspot for Ducatis, especially the lust-worthy 916 (& its derivatives)
I'd be happy with this bike instead at the moment (bit too far to go & collect though)
ARGOS (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Argos-Cyclo-cross-bike-mint-condition_W0QQitemZ330189195345QQihZ014QQcategoryZ33503QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)
Or this Trek Madone (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Trek-Madone-5-9-OCLV-110-Carbon-road-bike_W0QQitemZ170169915580QQihZ007QQcategoryZ33503QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

I like Yetis, but have never seen the need for a full-suspension bike. I spent several years racing MTB & never had it!
Admittedly my present Trek has it, but it's always locked out for the events that I do.
They produced a wonderful hardtail frame (the ARC)*
I used to lust after one when I had my Pace Research, but couldn't justify replacing a perfectly good (British, nay Yorkshire!!, produced) bike for another one
A friend a Yeti 'FRO' when I first got my Pace, that was also a nice bike

*And they still produce the 'ARC XC-Race' (http://www.yeticycles.com/Bikes/BikesOverview.cfm)
(I quite like the look of the 'ARC-X')

I'll admit I've not heard of those :?
Couldn't tell you how much travel the RockShox on mine have, as they're rarely unlocked.
(certainly won't be unlocked tomorrow for the cross at Bingley, which is a 'Cyclists verses Runners' up onto the local Moor & back!!)

My Pace had Bullseye cranks on it, it was a very tough unit, until the splines started to wear on the bottom-bracket axle.
There was also had pressed in bearings, with grease nipples for that, & the head-set: which was a precurser to the Ahead-set/present clamp on stems

I'm an all-the-gear-no-idea type :)
Finally got my Stumpie FSRxc Pro, mostly XT gear, Atomlab Trailpimps, Pace Carbon RC36 Proclass II (with lockout) Fox Float RLC (with lockout) about 100mm front and rear travel. Goes rather better than I can.
Still I don't think I'll ever be better than I was when a lot younger and had less self preservation. I remember 54mph down a local hill once car I overtook was not impressed... Also remember doing over 35 on an old incline railway track which had plenty of boulders in it on my old Saracen Tufftrax Extreme (the 1985ish team bike it with no suspension - could withstand almost any amount of abuse, many were turned into trials) I couldn't see a thing as my eyeballs were being shaken too much!
Hill is still local - I'm just not as loco as before even though I reckon I could go faster with the suspension and the extra mass.
Keep meaning to get out, but kiddies and wiffy and lara get in the way

The bike of an old friend of mine has a nice Specialised frameset at its heart
I believe it's this one (http://www.evanscycles.com/product.jsp?style=86086)?
There's still an early 90's Yeti t-shirt hanging around the house, it's in the shoe-polish drawer (it disappeared one day, only to resurface in there)

Thanks, I did it & I didn't break anything, but got very muddy!
Well a lot of it was cow-poo & slurry.
To be honest, it was hard!!!!!!!, it took me 51 minutes to do (I think it was only 8miles too!) :D
Too much walking/running/carrying for me - we went through a quarry & up through lots of rocky places, there wasn't much riding before the turnaround point
Photos to follow on my 'www'[/b]
-
51 mnins to do 8 miles...
at the moment I'm only capable of 6 miles in an hour and thats on roads!
Well done anyhow!

There's a selection of the photos are now on-line in the 'Cycling. 3'[/i] & 'Cycling. 4'[/b] albums

What are you lot on about?!!!!!!!
We are talking about real bikes one with engines not PEDDLIES
Talk about changing a thread subject
And you could have a dozen of them for the price of http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/AIRWAVES-DUCATI-999FO6_W0QQitemZ290184221865QQihZ019QQcategoryZ69839QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I thought it was common policy to divert threads :)
Yes I agree that Ducati's make the next best noise to a nice V8. A scooby with the right exhaust also make the right type of noise...

It is, conversations in 'real life' always go off at a tangent, as someone mentions a name/town/whatever.
However, dare I say???, this kind of free-will is frowned upon on another LR forum (that shall not be named), and subversive threads that dare to mention anything other than LR related topics are removed.
Got to agree, Ducatis are possibly the best souding big-bike, but you can't beat a big V8.
TVR's sound awesome :(biglove): , but Yank 'big-blocks' sound even better!!!!!!!!
-
I heard that Ducati's were non reliable and suffered from valve damage :?:
Nice bike though, bet it helps you breath more easily when riding
-
Dukes are as reliable as a 10 bob rolex lol,
you cant beat jap reliability, i think that 4 cylinder screamers sound better....but you cant beat the ring-ding-ding of a racing 2 stroke....mmmmmmmmmmm
