Are they doing both eyes at the same time?
Best of luck mate, I'm still thinking about it.
-

There we go, you could be a spy, you blend in with the background !!
If you like, I can do it with the spartan lazer gun from Halo 3 - I'll beat any high street lazer price by 10%
Serious though, hope it all goes well, I've heard loads of goods things from lazer eye surgery so I think you'll be A1 in no time
-
had a couple of friends had it done, they have perfic vision now, all the best, bet you cannot wait to see properly again on yer own! :D

Good luck Trasher :D

A mad man that can see
I know, I'm worried about when he actually looks into a mirror, will he recognise the man staring back at him ? !!

+5.25 Right and +4.25 Left. Have been told long sight is not as easy as short sight to correct, although this could have changed since I last enquired
Nice to know people never noticed mine.
Either your glasses were good or mine were bad

Thanks guys :)
As of 9.30am I have not needed glasses. I slept for 3 hours while my eyes recovered and now... well I can read without glasses. Still got a bit of halo vision - normal until tomorrow I understand.
It is SO odd not wearing glasses but being able to read!
Technology rocks :)
The only bit I did not enjoy was the actual lense cut. You can smell your eyes burning- the laser they used to cut the flap was not so obvious. 25 seconds per cut, 25 seconds per treatment - so not even 2 minutes to treat both eyes.
Boggert - I had both done at once. Itchiness had gone by 1.30pm (after I woke up) - can highly recommend the treatment. No pain at all.
I had Wavefront and the laser cut (as opposed tp the scalpel...) - which is the most expensive option, but apparently the best :) (I hope!)
They've cut out aberrations in the eye -so small marks I have lived with for my entire life ... have gone!
-
I've been toying off an on with getting this done, for a while I had a great excuse as astigmatism couldn't be treated but now it can.
I'd love to get it done but I have enough problems putting eye drops in, I'm not sure I wouldn't freak out with the whole process, do they sedate you at all?
-
Darren,
It is well worth doing. The staff are well trained and understand how fragile we think the eye is. You feel no pain at all. You have to be awake for the surgery as you must look at the light (so to speak) - once the anesthetic drops cut in (20 seconds max) you are unaware of anything they do to your eyes.
Afterward you need to self treat yourself for 7 days (eye drops). I too hate the idea of eye drops, but I figure that the slight discomfort of using them for only 1 week is worth the ability to see without glasses. I too had an astigmatism.

Great news, I'd love to bin the specs so might just have to look into this, glad to hear yours went well.
-
Wow, Laser eyes., Thats cool.
You'll be like some sort of super hero now.
Uh...Fixed eyes?
No lasers then?
:(
Glad to hear its gone well Neil.
It must be very strange being able to see again with out your glasses.
