To be honest I don't think you can beat the standard Disco 1 mirrors - plenty of glass and none of those convex areas found on new cars (I realise these are designed to reduce blind spots but I find them a pain!).

Actually I've been thinking of fitting Defender mirrors to my Disco as they are metal ,Bigger and fold back closer to the body because I keep ripping mine of on trees and the plastic is very brittle

Anybody else seen this done :?:  :?:

Why do you think some of us refrain from posting on his threads?? because to do so brings out the abusive side of the personality, so it's better to remain quiet and avoid peeing off the mods!

I like the mirrors on my 300.
Their move via a little joystick and in winter they get nice and warm and frost free.
Brilliant.

i think the issue is that if your going to replace something, it should be an upgrade.. and merely a cosmetic upgrade isnt really enough for me.. a mirror is designed so you can see, and the ones pictued in the first post seem a little too small, and alittle too close to the bodywork for my liking.

if you want side repeaters on the backs, i`d fix one of those lights that most car accessory shops sell, the rectangular ones, about inch and a half long, shouldnt be too difficult to feed a wire through from the side repeatrer....  :D  :D

in reference to disco matts coment about blind spot they may cure his but the just make ours worse keep it original or have noses turned up and backs turned ( people giving you the blind spot ie: did you see that SEE WHAT ) mind you big tyers and snorcel are ok as they help the motor look hard not namby pamby

Well my passenger side mirror has a crack in it (gulley north wales)
the housing is held together with sikaflex, metal strips and self tapers.
It also dosen't move with the motor as the selftapers went through the cable blowing the fuse

the drivers side is full of expanding foam holding the internals together

I also find them a little small as I am used to driving vans with bigger mirrors.

as for the adaptor plates I will be making them out of stainless then powdercoating automotive satin black (don't like bling)

I was thinking of defender ones but I will look into the transit ones suggested as I always listen to advise and do my research before starting so anyother mirrors that anyone can suggest I will look at too :D  :D

well I had a look at the transit mirros as suggested they are nicer looking but they seem to be for bolting to a door with more of an angle on it meaning that if I put them on a Disco they might look like they're drooping .

I know a guy with a van hire place in Bangor so I will see if he has a loose one I can try before I buy
