I've just done something like a 600 mile round trip in the Disco. During that time it:
Used what I consider to be a very reasonable amount of fuel
Didn't make any funny noises (well, nothing that I wasn't used to, anyway)
In short, it behaved perfectly all the time.
There's something wrong, isn't there?
-
i dont think its as strange as you think mate, i was a bit worried when i got the disco about the reliability stories but i do a 50 mile round trip to work every day and the six months i've had it 90% of the money i've spent on it (excluding go juice) has been on bolt on goodies.
Out of interest has your disco got a resident spider? Mine has and i hear these are fitted at lode lane and improve reliability no end :D

 LRS (or Land Rover Spider) is standard equipment, anyone who does not appear to have this refinement can obtain one by writing to LR customer relations, alternatively, leave your Landy in a field for a few hours, they are self-installing!!
P.S. My LRS is called Esmarelda, and she lives in the dash!!

I've got one that lives in the drivers side door mirror,
It makes an apperance every time the heated mirrors are switched on.
-
Yep,
It was nice to note that LR install them in *all* Land Rovers. Kanga has 2, Owl has one and Piglet has about 20 ;-)
-
The LRS is also happy in a Susuki Ignis. Said spider moved house when transporting wheels from landy in the back so we KNOW it is an LRS (not sure the japs have got around to copying this refinment yet but when they do ........)
-
I've just had one move in, actually. It's currently in residence just behind the driver's sun shade. Sounds like everybody has one!
-
T'old lass is home to loads of the damn things. Wouldn't mind but they live in the headlining and keep dropping down in front of your face (not that I'm scared or owt!). And what's more annoying than getting in the motor and having bloomin' webs all over your fizogg??

I think mine was removed by the previous owner, probably around the same time that he fitted the stupid smoked acrylic bonnet guard and wind deflector things on the front windows.
Either that or I had the Southern variant, and it couldn't cope with Northern temperatures.

Same problem hear with the SIII, however i have a totally irrational fear of spiders  which has lead to some rather interesting situations when driving involving me screaming like a girl at who ever it in the passengers side to "ssssssppppider……… There's an effing spider!!!"
I seam to have a homing spider in mine, you can be 40 miles from home when you throw it out the window but it still finds it's way back.
-
Pritch,
I've got the wind deflector on the front windows. Wouldn't do without one. It stops all the water running down my legs off the roof when the window's open.
Also got a bonnet one as well
I suppose my LRS moves me back up the ladder or is that a web!

Well you see it's like this Landrover quality control dept put the spider's in the motor & then leave it in a field for a month, if the spider is alive & well after this time all is well, plenty of creepy crawleys have got by door seals to be lunch for the spider there for no one will suffercate because of lack of venterlation
Ofcourse if the spiders dead the boys from quality control take the motor back to factory & wide'n the gaps a bit :)
DM :)
ps it's all true it was on watchdog
-
they might as well do, land rover's quality control department don't do anything else, such as check the motor :)
-
I've one too.
It must live somewhere around the region of one of the rear work lamps, I see his web every morning :D
-
Brings a whole new meaning to the term "MuddyWeb"

Careful now... that's Copyright ;-)

I had a spider in mine. I killed it   I was bitten on the foot by one once and was in hospital for 3 weeks. The scar is still there.

I've got one in the headlining, one in the drivers side door mirror and one who lives in the cubby box. I was thinking of evicting the one in the cubby box but it's an excellent deterrent when the other half tries to raid my Mars bar stash 8) :D :D :D

I havn't got one

:D Heres one for you. When i had my other Blue Classic Rangie, whilst renovateing it the headlineing came out and i found a rolled up 1978 Sun or Daily Star news paper and after checking the date on paper and on log book it must of been put in by a Sollihull worker as the date on the paper was older than the registration date on log book by a couple of months. I kept the paper for a while for a keep sake but i cant find it now :( .
Beat that then. :D
DPG is my whitness, as well as my other mates at DPGs garrage.
As for the spiders, its a pity there not Money Spiders.....
