Abstract topic I know, but that is Belgian beer combined with nostalgia, and a yearning to regain my lost youth!
My nomination is this one: Ultravox with Reap the Wild Wind.
Why? Simple really. Great band, great tune, old landys and old aircraft including Spitfires, Hurricanes, Swordfish and others!

SOOOOOooooo many to choose from....
Aaha - Take on Me
Adam and the Ants - Stand and Deliver / Prince Charming
Human League - Don't you want me Baby
etc etc etc
I've still got all my boxes of singles from the 80's and my old record player that I used to play in the dorm at boarding school.....Ahhh, happy days!
-
Not just an 80s band as such, but I'd have to say Metallica, and One for the video.
Have to say that Land of Confusion by Genesis isn't far behind!
-
How about this one?
The Rainmakers, Let my people go go
Many nights spent in a pub called Hoofers on the Earlham Rd, Norwich, watching this on MTV, drinking pints of DAB beer! :(bigsmile):

I was about to say there wasn't any thing good in the 80's..
and then you came out with what's perhaps my all time fave tune...
Good lad narked
-
See, not all 80s stuff was rubbish! :P
Also partial to some of the "Madchester" era music, current fave being Inspiral Carpets. Can't listen to heavy stuff all the time now can you?
-
I was young in the 80's and there was lots of strange music and video's
I have a fond memory of Vannessa Paradis (spelling) Joe La Taxi for some reason

I was very young in the early 80's too, I had a massive crush on Adam Ant, had posters of him all over the dorm wall, and even named one of my ponies Adam!

Heart. Theres the Girl. I know they technically started in the 70's, but really hit big time in the 80's.
The Wilson sisters. Grrrrr, woof, howl, ding dong!

Blimey! I've still got 'Since Yesterday' down stairs on a 7" single
On a similar vein, how about 'We've Got A Fuzzbox, And We're Gonna use It'. I've got their 'Rules & Regulations' 7".
Plus the summer special 12" with a couple of other people.
How about these??
'Nag nag nag!' (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=sS5g7R7YrUg&feature=related)
'True Faith' (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=og1HAkjOuL0) Still strange & as weird as hell, but catchy!!
'Queen Of Hearts' (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=2CoGlRSgsVE) I still regret never seeing Edmunds live :(
'All Men Are Liars' (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=bg-BiWZMXPA) The line about Rick Astley still makes me laugh
