cheers, have heard a lot about them how good they are (although apart from the filter, apparently a new one has to be brought every six weeks, at a £5 each which means by my calculations the aparent £30 in energy bills you save gets lost through buying these. but to be fair tefal say it can be run without a filter, all it does is filter the water but were not in a hard water area anyway :D )

My Mums got one, and yes they are good. However if you like your tea scolding hot then think again.

I like my tea hot but not too hot so its perfect,

Have had one for a couple of months.

Don't let the "3 seconds" advertising fool you - it takes about 20 seconds to get a whole cup, as opposed to 3 seconds for the first drip.  And Boggert's right - the water is hot, but not boiling.  The tea doesn't taste as good as it would with boiling water, and you have to stew it for longer.  It's fine for coffee though.

The filter might well need changing, but you can just ignore it and leave it in there for as long as you want.  I'm quite happy with mine (nice easy way to get hot water on demand) but if they made the water a bit hotter, and the device a bit less noisy, I'd prefer it.

We have had one for afew months - excellent for us.

We only use the kettle less than once a week - to fill both flasks when froading

Can recommend but water tank is only as big as a normal kettle but only boils water as you need it 8)

We got one.  As has been pointed out, by the time it actually filled the mug a normal kettle could have boiled the same amount of water, the machine splashed all over itself and it doesn't actually boil the water - we are both big tea drinkers and it does make a difference.

Our main gripe with the fact that it doesn't boil water is that we have a baby on the way and if we opt for bottle feeding, we will need to be able to boil and cool the water.  We found in the instructions, at the bottom of the box, underneath all the packaging, that the machine is not suitable for this, so we would either have to boil up a pan of water or have a kettle as well.  This seemed to defeat the object so we took it back and bought a new kettle with a few gizmos on it.

However, if you're big coffee drinkers without a baby in the family it could well be quite good.
