Just found this whilst browsing David Copperfields blog (http://coppersblog.blogspot.com/)
Couldn't decide whether to put it in the 'Jokes' or not, but I think it's worthy of a (possibly) wider audience in here??

Had one of them try and reverse into me at mcdonalds about 2 hours ago, i wasnt gonna move, would be fun to see how the Guardian tubular bumpers withstand pressure from chavmobiles!

gotta get a Nova (Not )
-
nova are very rare round these parts now...
-
I suspect an unmodified Nova GSI in good condition will be both rare and valuable in years to come...
Our local chavs seem to have moved on to Saxos and Corsas now. A better argument for Q-cars has yet to be found

Oh dear..... should I admit to having owned a Nova???
My defence is that I bought it new in 1990 and I got it cheap! I worked for Lotus when it was owned by GM and they were doing deals on the last of the Nova's. Got it with sunroof, alloys, electric windows and mirrors, top of the range stereo, metallic paint for £6k (pre chav'd  )
You'll be pleased to know it was totalled by an artic who shunted it up the rear and for good measure pushed it into the railings at the front
The insurance paid for a full reshell and we sold it on quickly..... got £5900 for it with 14,000 miles on the clock and it was less than a year old! That was what you call low depreciation! The buyer said it was the best they had seen.... no wonder with paint less than a fortnight old

i had 3... it was the craze when we all past our test first time round....
and i admit i liked my SR (third) a lot, it was fun to drive, good on fuel (even with full block-bumper stainless, 2.0 carb off a cavalier, and was surprisingly quiet, not like the one litre "power bucket" saxos and corsas around with more capacity in the last 3" of exhaust than the whole engine..
and if offered for the right price, i would love a GSI, with maybe a few sensible modifications.
we were all young once!

I had a Nova once, about 2 years ago, paid £100 for it and abused it for a year, before selling for scrap. Loved it, never let me down & did about 8000 miles, without spending a penny.
Had a Nova come in to work, when I was at Quaife, with the entire 4x4 system, 2 litre turbo engine & 6 speed box from a Calibre transplanted.
Blimey ! that was quick, but looked like a fairly std Nova. Not stricktly my cup of tea, but as a peice of engineering, excellent.....
