Just buying a 300 Tdi Disco N plate looking under the bonnet there is a bit on the air intake .Its got electrics to itit looks like an airbox off a petrol injection system..I assume its an engine management thing.Now I want a Safari snorkel as I have on my 200 Tdi .The Paddock picture on their website doesnt show a clear picture for the 300 .I dont think its got ABS but will double check tomorrow.Where does it come through the inner wing ?.As the air intake pick up looks nowhere near the wing.

on mine i got a blanking plate for the end of the air box and the pipe work goes around the shock turret and in the side (engine side), you have to cut a hole in the side of the air box.
i'l take a pic later on to day.

Mine is an M reg and i have ABS ?
when i fitted mine, you have to relocate the whole air box, the bits come as part of the kit, as the existing air intake is at the front, and this gets blanked and a new one is made to the side of the air box.
if you look to the right of the air box, at the wing, on the inside you will see a large whole, this is where the snorkel comes in, you have to cut the hole on the outside.

One thing to watch out for - mine has the airbox in the place it's fitted on ABS-fitted models but doesn't have ABS. Check against the diagram first. I can post a photo or two of mine if that would be useful?
The kit blanks off the original intake and adds a new one on the side, as well as moving the airbox up and forward. This then connects to a short length of plastic pipe with two 90 degree bends which passes through the wing and connects to the snorkel itself.

once the air box gets moved it is a right pain to get the filter out as the catches get stuck on the power steering reseviour!
Can take a photo of mine tomorrow if you like. I have an ABS model.

Yep, exactly the same problem here! I'm not sure why Safari didn't supply a new bracket for the reservoir. There must be enough give in the piping to move it a couple of centimetres.

I can just about force mine out the way to get my fingers trapped in the air box clip!!!! :lol:
Going to look into making a bracket one day. Not high up in the to do job list yet though!
But Yes. Would have been nice to have got a new braacket with the snorkel kit.

If you have abs the snorkel will be like mine

my 2 top tips.
1. Get the template the right way up. I didnt but was luckily shown error of my ways before I drilled any holes
2. Dont drive through any horse do do before this weekend as when you remove the plastic wheel arch trim it gets all up under your nails!!

Finding the right hole saws may also be fun - I had to order one from Screwfix and buy the other locally. Step drills also appear to be a dark art as I tried our (usually excellent) hardware shop and a builders merchant to no avail.
In the end I had a garage fit it - did lend them the hole saws as they didn't have anything suitable of their own!

I used a normal size dril and just made lots of holes then a larger one to drill the holes out so they all joined up. Yeah the end result means it is a jagged finish which could be dangerous but the snorkel covers the outside ones and the one inside the wing, I just remember it is there!!!! If I dont remember I soon do :lol:

I will have a 300tdi non abs safari snorkel for sale in a couple of weeks. Only 6 weeks old, I'll be looking for £150 if anyone is intrested.

Looking at mine I think Its got an ABS air filter to a none ABS vehicle .Thats if I can get my head round the pictures.I,ve no problems fitting it as I did the one on my 200Tdi .And no hole saw either alot of small holes ,then jigsaw the bit left over.

That's not unheard of - mine had exactly the same setup. I can only assume LR were offering ABS as an option at the time.
