Title: Disco 200Tdi & Auto into a NAD 90
Post by: L90OOK on December 10, 2007, 19:57:44
Well having bid on a few disco's to break for engine etc to put in my 90 I have ended up with two Disco's
The one I wanted is a 200tdi with autobox that's gonna go into the 90...along with the front & rear axles (So I can fit alloys & have rear discs) & power steering...pure luxury  .
The other is a 200tdi Commercial Disco...(for £250    8)  )

Anyhoo...

Will the 200tdi fit on 2.5NAD mountings?
Autobox is gonna be interesting to fit (I'm guessing new mountings & power steering will be interesting challenge too
Gonna get a Steve Parker conversion for downpipe so should be straight forward there.

Pick the disco's up this week so will be stripping them this weekend :D

Technicly you cant fit the disco gearbox.

You can but the engine mounts will all need changing possibly along with the gearbox mounts also i beleive the gearstick arrangment will be interesting.

Although the engine will then sit far forward in the engine bay so you wont have to use the steve parker downpipe.

Any pics of the commercial?

will, a auto box doesnt have a gear stick
wake up lad
jamie, you'll need to swap the engine mounts off the astmatic engine to the disco block as there are completely different
the auto box will be longer soooo
you can sit the t/box in the origional place to keep the stock props, which will them push the engine forward to allow enough room to fit the origional, but slightly modded downpipe  8)

well, thats a rough from memory fitting guide  :P  :P

ill stand be be corrected on various things as i aint a auto -box guru

so the overall length might be different to my rough guess ( covering me ass here for incoming fire from mike !!    )

dan  8)

The auto box is roughly the same length as a manual Disco box but the shifter is cable operated, so you will only have to accomodate the transfer box lever.

If you fit the engine in the normal place and the box further back you will probably need new props, but the weight will be further back meaning an empty truck will have better weight distribution.

If you intend loading it right up then put the engine further forewards.
