Title: fitting a snorkel to a 200tdi 90 advice needed.
Post by: j.stobart on December 14, 2007, 21:07:28
Hello again all,
I've got a second hand snorkel that I want to fit to my 90 converted to 200tdi engine and I need a bit of advice.

Its the type that goes into the engine bay through the nearside wing vent, the thing thats bugging me is how I seal the plate bit that mates to the bit inside the wing, I just dont see how it can be water tight, its as though there should be another part to it. or maybe its just me being a bit paranoid, has anyone got any pictures or links to topics where this has been done or anything to put my mind at rest.  :?

You have to remove the wheel arch to get at it. Then use lots of sealent.

Looking at the wing top entry ones (which is the first snorkel I got) you have to move the heater matrix out the way any way to get to attach the hose to it anyway, and seeing as there are less joints to potentially fail, I am gonna go with one of them. Just need a spare weekend to fit the bleedin thing now.
