It may be possible to just turn up and go. The trains are quite frequent. Best check on their site.

No LPG allowed AFAIK
BUT we always went standby on the ferries as the cars reliability was suspect and always got a spare place

We're planning a trip to France in the Landy next year, what's this about no LPG?  Could make it expensive going in the V8.

Eurotunnel won't allow cars with LPG tanks on board (presumably even empty) - it took them ages to accept caravans with gas cylinders. I think you can get LPG in France though - try http://stations.gpl.online.fr/appli/index.php

Conditions for fuel
For your safety and the safety of others, please avoid overfilling your petrol tank.
We regret that LPG and dual powered vehicles cannot be transported by Eurotunnel for safety reasons.
We can accept LPG containers used for powering domestic services.

Just under check in time on the right

I think you will need an adaptor to use the pumps - ask your local LPG dealer.
I have a Euro filler with UK adapter and have been asked by our european friends if they could use it to fill up

I live 20 mins from the tunnel. You can turn up and go. But it will cost you. The earlier you book, the cheaper it is.

I once decided on a friday i wated to go on the saturday.

I could have gone, but it was £290

Excellent URL, thanks.

Looks like I'll have to be on a ferry then, makes it seem more of a holiday though.

I think Sea France were cheapest last time I looked - Norfolkline are excellent but their prices have gone up noticably (guess they're paying for their three new ships). Brittany Ferries require a second mortgage!

Go for the ferry; with the ferry you get an hours break and can get food etc. TO do that on the tunnel means 30 Min's with the car on the train then stop for another hour.

Eorochunel will take cars with LPG tabks but they have to be locked off mechanically and you have to be able to prove it, just like with caravans.
