How many gears?? 6 was the dogs doo daa s when I was riding a bike  :roll:

10 on group-sets like Dura-Ace (Shimanos top road group), & 9 on other groups.
I still run 8-speed on my two road-bikes, it's quite sufficient for me

(I remember when the only Shimano gear you saw was attached to a fishing rod)
