Title: angel eye colour lights
Post by: mentalmoshio sophs V8i on December 26, 2007, 00:24:23
i was thinking of changeing the normal roof light bulbs from the standard issue sidelight bulbs to coloured led ones but not sure if it would look good or not

there are blue, green,  red and bright white  ones

they dont seem to give of much light as they are.

also do the drive lights the same

Get the red ones, then nobody on MC will know if you are coming or going!

I don't really see the point in any colour other than white - as previous posts have said it won't be road legal with anything else. Besides which, I doubt the multicoloured bulbs have the same light output as proper white halogens - I have a red filter for a Maglite which cuts the light output dramatically when fitted. I don't fully understand the physics of it but to me it looks dimmer than the plain lens.

Putting red lights on the front of a vehicle is stupidly dangerous too and could very easily cause an accident. Even if you say you'll only use them off road, all it takes is for you to forget to switch them off on one occasion when departing the P&P site.

IIRC you are only allowed on pair of proper sidelights or marker lights, but then how do trucks get away with having so many :?

Green or amber should be, how can I put it, less illegal then blue or red.
