-

D drive listed as back up system and no files showing
-
Lee,
When you open up my computer what do you get displayed and is there any on there with the hard drive type symbol and a disc on it
-
no
-
do a system restore, go back to a restore point you know the pc was working properly.
when i do a restore i do a scan disc then a defrag after but its not compulsory
-
Lee,
FOr some reason sounds like your comp is not regisitering the cd rom drive as above first and easiest thing is a system restore, otherwise you could be looking at a number of things ie full windows wipe and reinstall that can clear it or it maybe you have a faulty cd drive do you have a spare you cud swop it with to try

I to had probs loading for my new tom tom yesterday but after 3 go's it worked.
My dad also got a tom tom and it loaded 1st time on his pc.Mind you his pc's much better than mine.

do this
right click on my computer and select "manage"
then down near the bottom of this new window highlight Disk Management
all physical drives and partitions will be listed here, hopefully including your cdrom..
if its listed it SHOULD tell you what drive letter its been assigned..
if its listed and doesnt have one, right click on the cdrom on the bottom portion of the right hand side, and select change drive letter and paths, and select the next available drive letter.
if the above isnt necessary and its still not picking it up, maybe the cdrom is faulty
