Title: Lift Kit from a defender
Post by: Little-Green-Machine on January 02, 2008, 20:34:28
our disco needs a wee bit of lift and a mate of ours is lifting his ninety again to fit his huuuuuge new wheels so his old kit is available, its a 2inch lift with pro comp shocks we wanted to know if it fitted and wheter it had any draw backs. thanks in advance.

IT will physically fit but the spring rates will all be wrong, and at a guess i think the rear end will be a bit saggy as its much heavier than a 90 rear.
so buy a proper kit!
they are not that dear these days for a spring and shock kit.

the fronts for a 90 are the same springs as a disco equipt with winch springs 200lb ft IIRC
how ever the rears are 220 instead of 320 so the rear end will be 1/2 inch lower

The shocks however should be fine for your Disco.

Put the coils onto E-Bay, they'll sell.

It depends on the lift kit in question

Some provide exactly the same springs for a +2" inch lift on a disco and 90
