I very much doubt anyone spotted me on tv yesterday but I was on a program called Waterworld on itv doing my canal restoration work.
For those who would like to see it this is how you do it!
Go to
www.itvlocal.com/central/documentaries
Search for Water
"Waterworld - new series
The man whose life was saved by a narrowboat" was the second found when I searched
I am in the 2nd half of the program (seems to work wierdly, but if you fast forward to the end of the first 11 minutes to about 10mins we get an intro then it goes by itself into 2nd half for another 11 minutes.
I am in it a number of times.
I am 10-11 seconds in laying a stone (just my hands)
1.06 interview
1.42 are my legs and sweeping some stones
2.01 laying a stone
2.30 me walking about.

I have to say both
My wife tends to watch Waterworld as she has a great interest in the canal system, she covered an aspect of it as part of her history degree.
We both really wish you well with all of your restoration work. If it was not for people such as yourself we might lose a great national resource :D

cheers silvery thing :D
I love the canal history too and I did a project on my local canal for my GCSE project. I cant a fford a NB nor a NB holiday but I can afford to go away and restore them at £49 a week inc food and accom.
I spend at least 1 weekend a month about the country on a canal somewhere and 2 weeks during the year. Have been known to spend 10weeks in 1 year
It is great fun and I love it and my CV is full of stuff now that helps me get jobs and my confidence has grown and the friends I have made are second to none. Great bunch the lot of them. Wouldn't give it up for the world. Would recomend everyone to give it a go one day.
Oh and a little extra Brucey bonus is that alot of people are into Land rovers and off roading and going onto site can be an off road adventure in itself!!! eg

I had to laugh this evening.
As I was running to the chip van I went passed my neighbours house (who was also going to chip van) and I suddenly heard, "hello tv star" she saw me on Waterworld as well and she said as soon as she saw me she phoned her Mum and said "thats my neighbour"!!!
