Title: 265 75 16 tyres
Post by: Mark_Solesbury on January 05, 2008, 10:52:10
Are all 265 75 16 tyres the same size?

Im still undecided on tyres for my 90..... :(

Some look bigger than others... Is the size measured across the top of the tread, or is it sidewall to sidewall?

265 is width of tyre 75 is height and 16 is wheel rim diameter
go for 285 / 85 / 16's if you can., may need a little lift to accommodate.

Yes, technically thye are all the same size, just as a not on the above, the 75 is the sidewall height as a percentage of the width, so in a 265/75 its sidewall is 198.75mm high, 75% of the width.

The reason some look bigger, is, remoulds generally come out a different size such as the simex copies, and chunky treads always look bigger than less aggressive treads, its psycological mostly.
