Out of curiosity I was wondering what topics outside of the 4x4 world interest everyone.
It might be rather revealing to know what 'Floats Your Boat'
For Example;
'Andy' like to go watch a bunch of big blokes chasing each other around a bit of grass shouting "Chase me, I've got the ball!!"
'Frankie-Boy' likes to play at Captain Pugwash on his holidays
For me, I'm quite partial to;
Art-Deco architecture & design
Victorian architecture
1960's/early 70's American Muscle-Cars
Heavy haulage (the 'STGO' & 'Indivisible Loads' stuff)
Cycling (but too old nowadays to do it properly - no racing!)
World Rally Championship
World Superbikes (still miss 'Foggy' & Troy Bayliss)
Sushi (don't often get the chance to indulge)
Industrial Heritage (we need another Fred Dibnah!!!)
Music (my own tastes naturally)
Reading (ditto)
Yorkshire scenery (best in the UK - ooh, I've opened a 'Can Of Worms' there  )
-
I like Pina Coladas, and getting caught in the rain :-)
WLTM like minded 18 YO girl for fun and maybe more
oh, sorry... wrong website
-
If I'm not driving, spannering or cleaning HL, I'll often be found reading (Terry Pratchett, Bret Easton Ellis, Iain Banks, Kathy Lette), writing, nattering to peeps on the phone, taking Gay Max (my Collie/Staffie X) for walkies on the common, and warbling; I sing lead vocals with "Miss 'da Pink" -we're a covers band doing mainly 'girly rock with attitude' ( not 'gig fit' yet, but shortly to be available for weddings, bar mitzvah's, divorce parties................ :D )
Oh, and, of course, riding the combo-hearses, but that's work.....
-
Your right about Fred
Though in recent times it seems that comedians do quite a good job of it
Chris Barry, Robbie Coltrain and the like and they add a bit of humour to it like Fred did though his was a lot drier
Interest out of 4x4 includes books and music, Scouts/cubs of which I am one of the leaders in Llanberis. V8serisone (MC member )being one of the others (Leaders that is I'm not interested in him [-X ).TV and Film being my favourite and the only sports I have any interest in must involve engines :D
-
I think I started a thread like this some time ago. Me, you can add the following:
Computing in general
Model aircarft, mainly helis at the moment
Mini Motos
Collecting vintage gaming stuff
So all in all, you could probably say I'm a proper geek.
-
Apart from the Landy, I am also interested in:
Motorbikes (I own one)
Pyrotechnics (member of the British Pyrotechnics society)
Armouring (particularly chain maille)
Roleplay (yes, I'm a geeky Dungeons and Dragons player!)
Computers (It's my job)
Clay pigeon shooting (since inheriting 2 shot guns)
Plotting my move to Canada. (cos the UK is getting me down)
-
Luke; So you're a bit like our 'Nellie' (re; Neil/'Thrasher') with the armour
Arise Sir 'Piglet' (http://community.webshots.com/photo/156365552/183962109NOQALl)
Lee; Yes, you're right, Coltraine & Barrie both do an excellent job with plenty of passion for the subject matter.
Then there was Mark ('The Fast Show') Williams with his 'Industrial Revalations' series
Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden?) is starting one on SKY soon about air-craft.
-
Oh, I forgot.
'Frankie-Boy' told me once that I
"Must Write Instruction Manuals For A Hobby" (http://forums.mud-club.com/viewtopic.php?t=228&sid=c4901a31cae5ebf6e7b87d4791e99d18)
See his initial reply for proof
I wish I could afford to have one of These (http://community.webshots.com/photo/172727354/172732820cJcurV) as a hobby

My project for this year is julie's Capri. Watch this space!
-
That will be nice, there's restored 'XLR' (if I'm thinking straight) not too far from where we used to live.
It's in that fantastic 70's chocolate brown, with a black bonnet
-
The black bonnet is already decided, Julie is nearly a foot shorter than me and I know from experience that theres about 3 feet of bonnet she can't see, if the rest of it shines she's not got a hope of seeing the road! I think it might get a pair of wing mirrors too.
We've been arguing about the colour for ages though, Julie wants it Yellow (banana) or orange (*%^$") but I wanted to spray it Signal Amber ever since I saw a model of an RS2600 in that colouor scheme. So I bought 1/2 litre of Celly "just to try" and I think I might get my way!
