hi 200tdi is doing 26 mpg is this good or bad running big jf inter cooler, k&n ,no middle box, turbo running at 1,2 bar 235x85x16 tyres
-
I would say that is quite reasonable...it all depends on your driving style.
-
Thats good, mine does about 23-24 mpg on the same tyres :D
-
Well, I cant tell you if its good or not, I dont know what mines doing. As I dont know what size the fuel tank is....its a 1988 90. I get 230 mile to a tank! I hope its a 40 litre tank!
-
THATS GOOD MAte, ive always struggled to get over 20mpg out of a tdi, 200 or 300, i drive flat out admittedly all the time, but in a derv you have to!
-
true!!!!!!!!!!!
-
on a 200mile run i got 33mpg out of my 200tdi.
but that was on a run, and i dont have a heavy foot (did not exceed 60mpg) and the fuel pump has not been tweaked.

I'm lucky to see 20 - 22 mpg in my 300, but as BK will testify I don't hang around when on the move

Don't forget that if you are using non-standard tyres, the milometer reading will be inaccurate.
Using 235/85x16 tyres on a 90 will give an under reading, so you are actually doing more miles than you think (I worked out that the error was approx 10%). 90's usually came fitted with 205x16's.
-
oh in that case i wasnt gettign 33mpg :'(
-
ha ha did wonder about low mpg as before i changed wheels i was getting 28-30 on same run 10% would make up loss .but usually drive home about 75 mph then it eats derv but than again it is a brick on wheels not many bricks can go at 95 mph flat out
-
i get about 30 mpg with my 200tdi series 3, thats if i stay below 60
above 60, i get mental images of niagra falls
-
Ive just looked on a website, and it says LR 90's with under seat tanks are 90 litres in capacity???? Then on Rimmer Bros. it says the same, is this right???
If so, Im getting 11mpg
-
thats cock....
Mine will take 40ish.. cant remember exactly.
-
Just checked a PDF version of the original Owners Manual & the capacity of an underseat tank of a 90 is given as 54.6 litres (12 gallons).
Hope this helps. :D

I worked out mine to be 27mpg. I seldom head above 60mph as I feel it will start shedding parts! (Well, that and the hectic wheel wobble I have at the mo)
It may be psychological but my mpg seems to improve when I have a large anvil in the back. :?

If you have a tdi they do work better with a bit of weight to push along...know idea why :-.

Working on the grounds of having a 12 gallon tank, im getting 220 mile to it, working out at 18 mpg. Thats with 265/70 16" Colway Machos.
-
i worked out on the basis of 4.5 litres to a gallon i get approx 27 to the gallon average but if i drive it hard its about 20mpg approx
