If you cut it, lip it. One sure fire way to fail MOT is to have cuts in your tyres.

try a hacksaw then

apparently a dremmel works well, but as above, i`d be tempted to dribble a bit of light oil on the cut, as aluminium is awkward stuff to work with, and the lube helps the blade pass through without getting too badly snagged.
as for failing MOTS because of cuts on the tyres from trimming arches?? - the idea is to remove material which fouls the tyre on maximum flex, thus the edge cannot get close enough to cut the tyres. :dance:
so all :police: happy there! the only issue that could be raised is exposed sharp edges, those door protectors you get from the quid shops should cure that problem ;)

yeah....lets not go there!
i found an angle grinder best to chop mine, if you just work your way around you get a pretty good finish
just needed cleaning up with a file

I did mine last night, so I could fit my 265/75/R16's, I also found the rear trailing arm bracket on the axel had rotted off!
Needless to say I was welding last night :embarrassed:
