And I have a grand total of six customers! All of whom are currently doing my head in!
Get me out of here!
-
Where would you like to go
-
Sounds like a pub quiz I went to a few months back - grand total of nine people in the place, the quiz had a slight hiatus between rounds as the barman was competing and had to sort out drinks orders!
Could always get the local Mud Clubbers in, see how much generalised mayhem we can cause...
-
Worst thing is I know full well that before I end my shift the father-"in-law" will turn up to end the evening perfectly. Probably make me hang around for hours to take him home.
Half the customers are currently playing on the gaming machine (at full volume), and the other half are talking complete rubbish.
-
I don't go to the pub anymore :(
-
What pub and where :D
-
The George Borrow Hotel, in Ponterwyd. Just getting ready to go home now!

I have never heard of Ponterwyd so I know I will never go there.... thankfully ;) [-o< :)
-
No real need to come here ;) It's not exactly the world's most exciting place. Decent lanes round here though.
Back home now!
-
Well it can't be everyone's staying in becasue there's something good on the telly. I ended up putting a DVD on, good job I got plenty for Christmas.
-
This weekend is supposed to be the quietest of the year statistically. Apparently a lot of people have spent a lot on Christmas and don't get paid until the end of the month. They are skint.
-
Fancy a swap? I work in Rummers in Aberystwyth, and I just can't muster the necessary enthusiasm for tonight. :-k
-
I reckon a Mass mud club meet there   That will get ya running around , Or take some time off and come down here to get muddy

Oooh Rummers. I love going in there, though admittedly rarely get the chance. At least now I know who the landy belongs to though!
Richard: time off is something I would love to have, and I shall arrange some asap! I have however applied for a new job, proper 9-5 Mon-Fri council job. Doubt I'll get it, but if you don't try, you never know!

ah the borrow
i often see that when i cane it towards aber ;)
used to go to the wood mill in ponterwyd a few years ago for my old man and take the load back to pembrokeshire (a slow ford cargo isnt the fastest)

Worked there for about 6 months 3 years or so ago. I had the "wonderful" job of operating the debarker. Pick log up, put log into machine, pull lever, repeat. Extremely boring. Occasionally was given a break and went on the pointer, which was almost as boring, but not quite! Broke my finger for the first time in that place, the air was blue that afternoon!
-
no thats a friday evening i wouldnt mind working!
ihate working ours and am very glad i dont work them! the guys that come in our public bar are well... i shall say not pleasent when drunk! they just annoy me and ruin my evening!
-
It's good, at first. But when it's constantly like that, it does your head in!
Just got back from having a couple of pints at The Druid Inn in Goginan, now that's a lovely little pub. Lovely beer (Butty Bach, mmmm) served by a lovely barmaid, in a lovely stone-built pub.
-
Nick off and go to the Druid...used to be very good... :police:
-
Narkd - put a multimap link up, and next time we're passing we can pop in for a pint ;)
-
Ponterwyd is easy to find - just follow the A44 West from Llangurig and it's the next village you come to. The pub in question is on the left just before the end of the speed limit (still westbound).
-
Another dead night! Might head for Singlefin's place later, got a taste for the beer! Not had a good day with gf's parents at all, and in the mood for a night in town when I finish work!
-
Pack ya overnight bag n get down here for our jolly tomorrow then
-
Ah [!Expletive Deleted!], once again my plans are blown out of the water. Seems things have got worse with the gf's parents and a suitably large bloke is needed as a barrier, so I am being chauffered home after my shift to act as a peacekeeper. Oh the fun.
-
Was Butty Bach mentioned.... :afro:

Tis a fine pint! Though last night I got hammered on the old Skull Attack!
And yup, that's where the pub is.

Now is a good time - got Black Sheep on - yum.
-
Only had that in bottles before, must pay you a visit! Might pop in after diving on Wednesday if I've got time, failing that I shall hopefully be in town celebrating my birthday over the weekend!
-
It could have got interesting in ya pub when we was up there (with burgerman) when there was a rugby match on TV with local getting animated over the match and my NewZealand matey said "Oh didn't know Wales could play rugby" non one heard him though

Maybe see you in there then, seeing as it's mid-week-pint-night. This weekend's going to mainly involve Kontrol at the arts centre for me :afro:
EDIT: Oh yeah, and maybe heading to Bala on Sunday for some mudding, if you're game.
-
Sunday is a no-go for me I'm afraid, pipe cleaning in the morning, then doing the bar until 4. Plus got a few jobs to do on the Disco before I take it off road. Didn't make it into your place last night sadly, ended up in The Cambrian with a few others from the club, amongst a lot of rather strangely dressed students! Some of the ladies amongst them must have been rather chilly.
-
Matt, what is the food like there at the moment?
Fancy taking SWMBO out tomorrow
Graham
-
I enjoyed the gammon egg and chips the other day.
-
Ah Graham, how are things sir? Been back up in Llani working again, so been giving the Disco a good run every day now that I've got her back with her shiny recon gearbox!
The food's quite nice, I regularly enjoy the cuisine on offer ;) Nice mixed grill, gammon, and a few other bits and bobs on the main bar menu, and then we have a selection of homemade specials, my favourites being the chicken curry and the lamb and leek hotpot!
-
Might have to try it soon then.
Can even get in a green lane on the way!!!
