I need to do my sills do I just grind the rot out and replace the bad bits, or replace the complete thing,if its the complete thing can you get replacement's to weld on.or am I best getting someone to do it for me,
-
Muzzer, the best thing to do as 'upgrade' is to buy some 60x120x1400 box section steel and follow the info on the link below:

Best of luck, it took me around 4hrs to do each side, also leave some time to repair the floors as they will inevitably have rot in them

Give Paddocks site a look.

it depends how big the holes are in the sills, and what the rest of sill is like
i patched the hole about 8" long as the rest of the sill was good, just a few small holes here and there
much easier than cutting the lot out and replacing the whole thing
-
id go for the whole new sill, or rock sliders . as they get older new sill aint gonna want doing again and again in different places if u patch them first time around
-
There comes a point when it's worth doing the whole sill, but if the rot can easily be replaced without removing the whole lot then patch them up.
Check that the metal you leave behind is sound, otherwise you'll end up with nothing holding your repairs on this time next year.
It took me ages to do RRR properly.
