Hi guys,
Just jumped in my 90 (1986) and the indicator is playing up. It's flashing too fast on right indication, is fine on the left though :-k, any ideas what could be the problem?
Cheers

You have a bulb out somewhere or the flasher is dead/dying.
Put Hazards on and see which one it is.
-
Or a dodgy earth on one corner.

I agree.

Electronic flashers are designed to run fast if one of the bulbs fails, it's a failure warning.
So you have a bulb out.
-
Will it be an electronic unit on an '86?
-
I'd have thought so, they were common place in the '80s.
-
You may well be right. My '83 had towing electrics when I bought it so I don't know what it had originally. Haven't quite got to that on stripping the 1988 90 yet.
-
A lot seem to have been factory fitted with towing electrics or the relays at least, the plug is in every RRC loom and the relay socket is ready for a 4-pin. Why they didn't just fit them to all LR I don't know, it can't have saved them any real money can it :?
-
mine sometimes flashes fast when turning right but all bulbs arefine, im wondering if the relays on its way out?

That is more than likely a poor earth or corroded contacts in the bulb holders
-
dont worry spence mine does that too  :-$

Agreed, if the bulb is not drawing 21 watts, even if it's still flashing, it may not be enough.

when my flasher unit packed in they just stopped workin altogether!! when I blew one of the bulbs, they started to flash faster. Flasher unit was about 12 quid i think.
