Hi,
i took the prop out of my transfer box, (i take it thats what you mean ) when i had to get home once from having a rather heavy right foot and smashing the front axle, the gear oil poured out all over the place but once i had re fitted it following the re build of the front axle, topped it up with the trusted old ep90, all seems fine...
At the moment..
Hope that helps.
Chris.

Damn yes, that makes sense now I think about it.
Oh well, looking like a new t-case anyway as well as diff.

Depends how bad your diff is? If the front wheels and diff are live, ie no free wheeling hubs then the front wheels will still turn the diff and if something breaks or seizes then it could lock your wheels. If you have (you didn't say which vehicle you had the problem with) free wheeling hubs or similar then so long as they don't engage the diff will only spin with the drag of the oil, and shouldn't give you any nasty suprises.

Freewheeling hubs have been set to free for months, ever since the diff started to play up.
I'm barking up the wrong tree anyway, the vibration will be the transfer box, propshaft/UJs, or rear diff so this thread is a bit redundant. There is play in the outpust shaft so I may be looking at a new box, this is on top of the leak.
Need to have it up on stands again tomorrow for more maintainance (wheel cylinder) so I'll take a look at the UJs tomorrow.
Its just vitally important to keep it on the road right now with the Disco dead, we simply cannot afford to be car-less. If its Ujs then I'll get brand new bits as I'm building up a shopping list already :)

Vibration on mine was the rear prop UJ'S.They cost me £40 each from the main suzuki dealer.
Let me no if you need the part number for the uj's for a spanish built vit..
Cheers Gav
