Right so I started fityting it today, and like a numbty I took the springs out of the boxes and now I dont know which ones are front and rear. Britpart springs 2 " lift two are shorter thatn the others, please help. Also the spring retainer brackets needed drilling so that I could mount the shocker on the front is this right?

the short springs go on the front
long on the back
when you buy a lift, the front springs are always 1/2 shorter than the rears
when i fit a suspention kit to some ones motor i dont take the front turret of to fit the shockers
also, if there pr-comp shocks, dont over tighten the studs as they break easy
and DONT fit the stupid rubber gatiers that trap all the crap inside

Spring retainer brackets .... on the front?
Not sure quite what you are refering to there, either way the only drilling I have done to fit front suspension was when fabricating damper turrets from scratch.
As for plastic gaitors on dampers, Certainly don't fix them at the bottom to the damper body as mud will still get in and just be trapped. I did run some withough gaitors, but they are showing signs of stone chips so the the gaitors are fitted now, but only fixed at the top and cut short so they only just cover the shafts on level ground. After getting muddy always lift the gaitors and swill out any dirt.
Ideally I would get dampers metal gaitors like standard land rover items, though at nearly 4x the price OME were out of my price bracket.

I do exactly the same with Pro-Comp and so far they are doing fine :)
Spring retainers, are you sure you got them the right way round? front ones should be a yolk-shapoe to go around the shocker mounting, the back ones can be straight.

Drill the spring retainers out??? if you are on about the plates that stop the springs coming out, they have a captive nut underneath, you just put a socket on and unscrew them (loads of wd first)

If you get stuck, ill give you a hand,im only off J28 m62 near tingley roundabout, fetch it over

Thanks for the offer, I might have to take you up on that, I'm useless working on cars on my own lol.
Balls!! looks like I've put them on the wrong road round, I've put the straight ones on the front, and drilled a hole through the middle of them for the shocker stud to pass through, I didn't realise I had 2 kinds until I put all the bits I didn't get round to fitting back in the garage!! Shouldn'e be too much of a problem to swap them though when I get round to doing the back end.

can you not use the originals? you will get some replacements at four plus four in leeds,go see tony tell him i sent you, they are £5 each the rear ones are straight flat steel and the front ones are banana shaped to go around the front shocker :D
