Title: Welney Wash Flood
Post by: baz2236 on January 21, 2008, 13:30:06
Spent a little while up Welney wash on Saturday the level at the start was just below the 3ft marker but it got deeper. I finally got wet as it was not flowing quite as fast as sutton gault and towards the end of the day it was hardly flowing at all. I had to pull out a toyota 4x4 as he tried his luck and failed so 2 of them were pushing it thro the flood. nothing else really going thro it as it looks deep. But apperantly its deeper now I shall find out tonight.
As I know you all like pics here are some.

Surely that marker is wrong, it doesn't look that deep?

The markers are at the edge of the area that floods. They warn of the deepest part to stop motorists getting caught out. At least, that's what I understand.

Sutton Gault is near sutton.

The marker at the begining is suppose to show the deep point I beleive but I don't think when they where put up the road was sunk as much as it is in the middle its deeper then 3 ft.
