Good Omens is one of my favaurite ever books, the best footnotes ever! read it if you haven't already.
'no ones claiming responsibility for Milton Keynes'
-
Sounds interesting
I'd like to see a 'City Watch' based movie
The casting could be, erm.........., interesting :-k

Yes indeed a cracking good read.
Would like to see that on the big screen, but would be almost as happy with a Hogfather-esque tv screening.

I think those would be the easiest to sell to non-Discworld people. Men at Arms would work really well to my mind, as in essence it's a cop thriller.

True!
Tony Robinson (in Baldrick guise) as Nobby :D
Anjelina Joli as Angua (she was blonde in 'Gone In 60 Seconds')
Ian Richardson would have been superb as Lord Vetinari, but sadly he's no longer with us
Now....... casting Sam Vimes & Carrot??? :-k :-k :-k
-
Well, Pratchett has always said his mental picture of Vimes is somewhere between Pete Postlethwaite and Clint Eastwood. I think the former might be better than the latter!
-
Vimes = James Nesbitt (without the irish accent)
Carrot = ?
Vetinari = alan rickman

ah yes good call !
-
Christopher Lee might be a good Vetinari
-
Carrot = Stephen Fry ?
Nobby = Shane MacGowan

Possibly?, but is he care-worn enough to do it??
Carrot = ?
Tough one to call, with out going 'mainstream'
How about the guy that played 'Collossus' in 'X-Men 3'??
Daniel Cudmore (http://www.imdb.com/gallery/ss/0290334/Ss/0290334/X2-302.jpg.html?path=pgallery&path_key=Cudmore,%20Daniel)???
Vetinari = alan rickman
So long as he plays it relatively straight (as per the books), & not Sheriff Of Nottingham style
'L-Space' has various contributors suggestions for actors/actresses to play the parts
http://www.lspace.org/fandom/afp/ultimate-discworld-casting-page.html
For example,
A 'human' Greebo, is could be;
Antonio Banderas (good choice, but obvious after 'Shrek')
Danny John-Jules (used to playing a 'Cat')
Hugh Jackman (got the appeal for the female contingent, at a guess)
Viggo Mortensen (same as Jackman)
Sybil Ramkin;
Geraldine James ('Blott On The Landscape' anyone?)
Penelope Keith (not the imposing figure, but can do 'posh')
Looking through the myriad of suggestions for Sam Vimes, the name of Scott Baluka stands out as an interesting choice.

Cristopher Walken as Vetinari?
