well that was hardly a stern test of it's ability now was it. me and my mav could have done that course in 2x4! where was the deeeeep mud?

Moving railway stock on the flat isn't so hard (once you get it moving, and the right gearing will help there). The problem is stopping! You'd have to fit an air/vacuum brake system depending on what the stock you're working with uses.

I would expect most 4x4s to be able to shift a couple of wagons on the flat. Certainly I remember seeing photos of a Disco with road/rail fittings moving three coaches.

What do you expect, it's 5th gear :roll:

I'd not be surprised if all you heard was how 4x4 are killing the planet, choking up the scholl run and murdering pedestrians "then after the break, watch me do some doughnuts in another pointless small car with no boot".

I never watch it, they're all such a bunch of wannabe's without the guts to admit they're just "cocking about".

If you open the PDF , it details the braking system/brake force appliable

Yes, the Discovery was launched on one of the preserved lines near Plymouth, perhaps Dart Valley?? (as it was unveiled to the press on Plymouth Ho!)
It was a Police liveried model, towing 3 coaches.


The 2A was also utilised in a similar way for a press-day in the 60's

I bet the answer to thier competition was answer A wasn't it? I don't have a tv so don't know. Just an educated guess. :wink:
