anyone know were to get a temp sender and gauge for a disco 200 tdi engine but in a 90? cant find them anywhere cheers
-
GET A TIMS ONE MATE THEY ARE ACCURATE AND REASONABLY CHEAP , OFF THE TOP OF ME HEAD ABOUT 40 SQUID WITH THE CORRECT SENDER FOR ENGINE.
IF YOU GET STUCK LET US KNOW AND I CAN SORT THEM OUT FOR YOU.
-
Or, steve Parker sells the correct one, count the threads on yours, tell him what you've done (disco in 90) and he'll send you a re-machined TD sender!!!
About £6 plus p+p

Got one, they dont work!!!! as guardian says put a new gauge in,I had this problem the only way round it is to put a new gauge in,i bet your gauge is reading too high?on the white bit just b4 the red? if you go on vehicle wiring products site they do a "durite" gauge that looks good in the defender and then buy BOTH sets of adapters for the sender unit (not sure of the thread) and jobs a good un.Or a cheap way is to buy a gauge, use the original sender into the housing, cut the top off and drill a hole into it to match the size of the "durite sender"and just solder the new sender into the old sender.A lot of pratting about i know but it works perfect,my mates just done it

What temperature does a 200tdi run at though???
-
between 80 and 90 c (mines does anyway)
-
OPEn at 82 degrees i think.

Hi I used these and it is spot on, and cheap as chips! :D Land Rover parts/ PRC 2505 and ERC 8973 thats Temp sender and Adapter for 200tdi in a 90. I have a 200tdi disco motor in my E reg 90 and the temp was reading real high!! but this sorted it.
-
Sounds about right :)
-
I tired part No. ERC 8973, isnt even close being a correct fitting for changing a 90 temp sender into a disco engine. The female threads are correct but the male end isnt even threaded! It's designed to go into series motor. Just to warn you....
-
go down the new gauge and sender route
-
I have just checked the packets I got my temp sender and adapter in, and I can confirm that ERC8973 is correct and is fitted to my disco 200tdi powered 90 as I write this reply!! and the gauge is correct. You must have a duff adapter there mate!!
