Despite having done nearly a quarter of a million miles, the disco sailed through the MOT on Monday with absolutely nothing needed doing  Just the £33 for the VOSA fee. That's not only the cheapest MOT of the 4 that I've put the disco through, that's the cheapest any of my cars has ever gone through! I was gearing myself up to try to afford a discovery II. Now I don't think I'll bother ;)

mine is on 230,000 miles. failed on a fog light bulb and had to move the no plate as the bullbars covered it. great news mate. :D how many newer cars pass that easy.

Makes my 200tdi with 137000 look positively youthful.
I hope mine passes as easily just after easter!
So far over the last 4 years it has only failed on pan hard rod bushes.
So I am expecting something a little bigger this year!!!

Thats great jnoshea!
Nice to see yo lot are keeping them going... !

Just as a comparison.
Mates 04 reg 407 cost £1500 for first MOT
Engine mounts, disks, springs, wishbone and lots more.

I do tend to think that it is because we have a love with our vehicles that when ever something starts to go wrong we get it done there and then, as opposed to other folk who have a car to get about and don't do work until it really is needed and about to fall off. Also they are never under thier cars repairing something and find something else 10times worse they didn't know about unlike Land rovers

I've only got 111k on the clock so far, still remember where it went over the 100k mark (Argos car park, Aberystwyth  ).
I agree that we are probably more attentive than the average driver. Certainly the number of people I know who don't even know where the dipstick is worries me!

Mine passed yesterday too - 123k 18 months ago, 154k now. Not bad for a 15 yr old
