have a look it may come in useful to a few people, i stubbled across it and now we have a portable generator in parts waiting to be built!

I just wish i had found this when we did drag racing saves running an alternator with soooo much weight!! :doh:

Built one a long long time ago. Used it to run halogen floods from a suffolk engine.

BUT

Bear in mind a small 800W gennie can be had for <£50 though.

WHat I have done in the past though is a glow fuel engine and 25A Alternator. Litte charger/12 power source smaller than a shoe box.

when we used to drag race our bike we would take things off the that added weight and running with out an alternator can be the difference between one class and another,

so a cheap and effective way of charging or bumping it into life with such a low compression on the turbo bikes saves running up and down the pits looking like an idiot

and you can power your mobile workshop lights cheaper than the cost a 4 stroke genny

well yeah im assuming you were running a mag so easy just to bump it, you can lose the starter motor as well then.
