i mean the type that bolts to the roof with the stick that pokes down in to the cab so you can point where you like.  You can get remote control ones!!!

I use a ring rectangular spot lamp with a tool rack clip atached so it fixes onto the undernearth of the barel the a coin mech micro switch on velcro that fixes to the stock and a 12 volt gel battery out of an alarm in a carry pouch the switch has a wire that sits behind the trigger so you can take the slack out of the trigger and the light comes on works great and takes seconds to clip on and off .

I go lamping with an air arms jackel looks a bit naff but with uprated seals and spring it does the job  and takes more skill than a 12 bore scatter gun  (that should start things off) it's also fitted with tasco sights and silenced.

B&Q do a 1.5 million candlepower torch  for about £20.  However I did notice that they are selling a 15 million candlepower as well. Didn't see how much they were but that would cook the rabbits for you

Propper ones  are around £100 like they say... I got a scope mounted tactical torcch called a verminator but its not that good (30 yds max and not bright enough to confuse them long, good for rats though I bet).

What I recommend is the B&Q light, and a mate. Or unscrew the lens/reflector and make a mounting for it. FIx the mounting to the gun by using a scope mount upside down, then a metal plate  (use ally its light an easy to work) can clamp into.  Cut the wires that have the bulb connector and lengthen with something like a curly cable of speaker cable.  You can then modify the body of the torch or keep it as is as the switch and charger will be on that.

If you buy a small to middle one then the torch can go in your pocket or on a sling.

I have not made this yet but did make one years ago on similar lines and spend a while looking at my B&Q torch thinking about how to do it the other day.

the thing is its somthing that i would use for a bit of lamping but is also great for random farmyard use because you can point it where you like whilst driving. good as a reverse lamp as well cos im sick of sticking my hazzards and fog lamp on just to see any time im reversing at night. But im always doing a lot of scouting about for stuff (i know how dodgey that sounds!)

looks like its somthing for the wish list then,

Cheers

Tom

(lets face it its a full on rip at £100)

What about a set of cycling lamps, they use a rechargeable lead acid battery the size of a drinks bottle and 2 smal but powerful lamps for the handlebars, plus an in-line switch/fuse.

Hmmm Cycle lights does sound like it could be a good idea, the beam bay be a bit spread out though so not keep them (babbits that is) squatting.

I use a Logun Lamp (availiable from any gun Shop, or ebay). Lasts a few hours, and when im shooting from the motor, ive made an adaptor to go in the Lighter socket.

Good range, and very compact. Dont be put off by its size.
