NO CLEAN you're mind up before you start............Do you give something the the country or are you one that just takes , takes and takes , ? Are you somebody that helps others fix their Landy (ect) or always gets somebody to fix it for you ?
I gave somebody a TV not long back I hope they think of me everytime they watch it.................

I would like to think people see me as a giver, I am an employer and I'm sure there are people on here that I have given computer parts/Land Rover parts etc to :)
Of course I will never refuse help if I am struggling with fixing something ... <confused now>

The old ethics of 'do unto others as you would have done unto you' and 'what you do will come back to you threefold' ahve always been the way I tend to live my life.
-
bit of both really. am given plenty of abuse at work but by the same token i'm not shy of giving it out either.
-
I agree with LSP - my parents always told me this and i have found it to be ture in life, strange thing is i'm saying exactly the same to my kids all the time.

Giver to much so some times ;) been take advantage of before know. Still i like to help and have got good friend to help me.
I work and pay far to much tax, so some don't have to. My wife works to so that helps the layabouts to. Also help all the NEW people coming in to the country to give them a nice house for there family to enjoy so as not to bother them with all this work rubbish.
Of course I'm not talking of everyone with out a job some do try. but you all know the ones i am talking of.
PS i also take a little, like them rear light jas thank you.

I'm a giver not a taker cos it makes me sore........
I agree with Dave some people take advantage I work with you scratch my back I'll scratch yours,
I'm also to trusting sometimes got my fingers burned by a member near to Northampton on here by being too trusting and taking him at his word.

been told i'm to much a giver and people take the P a bit to much
been told that i need to be more selfish in the future
-
I'm always helping my mates with stuff like DIY etc as i have most of the tools to do the job but i always seem to do my own stuff on my own.
As none of my mates like landys i seem to be always working on the truck on my own .Mind you i would'nt let most of my mates near a spanner let alone work on my landy.
-
My other half gives me grief cos I help people. Doesn't matter who, if someone asks and I can help then I will! and more often than not the help comes back to me
Once or twice I've helped someone, then asked for a favour back and been charged for it! which does P me off.
Having said that, some of my mates are in business and at the end of the day, they have overheads, so I always make it clear to them that I am willing to pay, sometimes they take money sometimes not!

i'm a giver . . . i only sold my first car because some one else didnt have a car to get to work in
-
Been a Scout Leader for 27 years now, suppose that counts for a bit of giving. Find it difficult to take sometimes as I feel guilty when it happens :? Still there are plenty of rewards in Scouting - you just have to work hard to remember that some nights!.

Hey where's that viscous fan you were going to give me......

I gave a friend my 28" widescreen TV the other day, always been a giver....... ooer missus....
-
I would say that most people would tend to think of themselves as takers, whilst actually being givers ...
I feel there's a balance there, if you're fairly convinced that you owe people *something* then you'll continue to repay the debt... and thus everyone gets on :)
-
Bit of both rearly, certainly I will lend a hand if I have one to spare, but don't be too surprised if I take the [throw it] as well.
-
I try to be a giver, which often works out as receiving as well. Take volunteering to help with setup on the Baja GB last year which got me the chance to drive large chunks of Sweet Lamb in exchange for banging about a million wooden stakes into the ground.
I guess it's karma for off roaders. Do a good deed and you'll find yourself in line for good things!

I think I am both. People have different strengths and weaknesses and it is by helping others that makes a good society work.
My conscience would not let me take something without giving in return.
In a perfect society a balance would be acheived. I have to say that the majority of people who we know in Mud Club are in this category and would do anything for their friends.
Unfortunately, you will always get people who "take, take ,take" - they are the sad ones who will end up lonely as people will avoid them.
