Title: Exhaust Pipe Size - Help!
Post by: tjolliffe on March 11, 2008, 23:05:07
Hi all,
Does anyone know the size of the exhaust pipe used on the 2.5 TD engines, i'm fairly sure it's the same size as the 200tdi systems aswell, if anyone knows it would be great help!
Cheers

Which bit? The system changes on a 110 from large at the front to smaller at the rear...

Yes they were the same, but bigger is better for a TDi.

i have found that 200tdii pipe is slightly wider! but a td system will bit just a bit tight getting it on to the exhaust manifold... but like above the 200 tdi did change a have a different system completely...

Cheers guys, after the front diameter of the pipe, i've done a 200tdi conversion in my 90 and am now going to make up my own straight thru exhaust  but i'm not sure what size the TD pipe is (i've got a steve parker down pipe), I would measure it but am using the truck at the moment with the old N/A exhaust on and dont really want to take it to bits. I've got a feeling it may be 2.5" or possibly 2 1/4" but just want someone to confirm. Got the chance to get hold of a cheap 110 front pipe that i can cut about.
Thanks

2 1/4 sounds right but if you can make one out of 2 1/2 be nicer and sounds deeper. :) if i was you i get hold of a td5 rear section and then use 200tdi down pipe then make your own middle bit, sounds great breaths fantastic. Oh and sounds the dogs what nots too
