I had a few problems with the guages on my 200 V8 so fitted a 2nd hand instrument binicle from another member. The replacement unit has cured all my problems, however there is one quite major issue......................
The speedo is now totally inaccurate and reads 10mph when the Disco is doing 30mph! I'm not sure if it makes a difference that the speedo was from a TDI and mines a V8? 8-[
Does anyone know an easy fix for this as I just plugges the cluster in and attached the cable. I've seen just the single speedo dial on it's own for sale on ebay, so does anyone know if it is easy to swap the old one from my faulty binacle (ironically the speedo was fine) for the one I've just fitted?
Any advice would be appreciated! [-o<

Don't hold me to this but i think that the speedo off a tdi is different to a v8 as the speed is read from the transferbox and as im sure you r aware the gearing is completely different i think but not sure
my advice buy a sat nav and use that as a speedo :afro:

Hmmmm.
The speedo head can be removed form the instrument panel if you are careful ,lay it out on the dining table so you can remeber what went where ;)
AFAIK the 200 TDi used an electronic speedo, driven by a short cable from the T-Box to a sensor on the chassis leg, the resulting speed siganl is shared by the speedo, EAS, cruise and engine ECU, via a speed signal buffer.
As all coil sprung LR share the same diffs, the only difference is between tyres sizes and AFAIK this is sorted with different gears inside the T-Box output, there is no difference between TDi and V8 instruments, not the speedo at any rate.
