hi do anyone know what this silver box do under the mass air flow meter is called as i took the wires of gave it a smack and now all 8 plugs are working and all 8 injectors are ticking away but if i move the wires then two injectors stop working.
I have put 4 new headgaskets on new plug leads cap injectors and now two months later found this box

3.5 EFi, with flapper system? then it's the injector resister pack, the injectors are not 12 volt.
BTW, if it's the flapper then it's not a MAF, it's a Volumetric air flow meter ;)

I wouldn't want to try to run an EFi system for prolonged periods without the Air Flow Meter, since the whole point of it is to help the ECU calculate how much fuel to inject into the cylinders.

The flapper simply won't work without it as it's an analogue system, it has no redundancy in the sensors so it can't generate a fuel map.
The injector will show 12+volts as they are negative switched.
If you're gong to rip it out then think about fitting a hot-wire system rather than carbs.
