I recently made up some turret spacers for a customer and discovered that there seems to be different threads used on the turret rings.
On my Disco they are a standard 8mm, as i thought they all were. I dispatched the spacers only to be told they dont fit because threads on the customers turret rings are a lot finer than a standard 8mm pitch.
Has anyone ever come across this before ? Could there be a difference between standard LR turret rings and after market ones ?

Hi ya.
As I understand it from my recent purchase of suspension parts the Genuine LR rings have the original UNF? finer thread, whereas aftermarket suppliers fit the more modern 8mm thread.

3/8" would be about 9.5mm which would be much more like an M10 than an M8. Without measuring one 5/16" (7.9mm) UNF sounds much more like it.

And made of cheese, don't forget that
