as a purely academic process at this point which is better?
it will be a daily driver doing twenty miles a day, it will also need to go laning most weekends and bog hopping whenever it's not too dry.
other considerations are ease of modification eg big tyres and suspension winches etc, and availability of service parts. and interchangeability of bits between derivatives ie will long wheel base springs fit under a swb to give a quick lift?
also do they have a slippery diff in the back axle?
you know all the usual sort of guff.

I own a grand vit and can confirm, yes, they really are terrible.... The grip is there, reasonable articvulation is there however there is absolutly NO ground clearance under the car.
That said, i have been looking into off roading mine and have to say that it seems that you can fit fairly large tyres under the arches easilly, 225/75 16's which i think are around 28.5"???? That would probably make it fairly good off road.

on a vitara would you need a lift to get 31/10.50/15's on or would you need to butcher the arches?
