Just bought 40 litres of oil from costco for just over £30 works out about 76.9p a litre.

The demand for biofuel is pushing up the price.  Pluss if you think (read know) that the chancellor is a greedy person he's nothing next to some of the larger farming 'interests'.

Remember how the fields started to be covered in rape when you were a kid? all the farms round here stopped growing grain of any sort and planted rape because it was the 'new thing'.

So bread will go up because of damend, less people are growing it because there's more money in biofuel oils.

Ironically the yanks are now buying grain from Europe for this reason, even though they grow better grain than we do, 60 years ago the trade went the other way.

I don't understand why the demand for biofuels would drive up the price of veg oil?

Biodiesel is made from USED veg oil isn't it?

Home made is, commercial uses fresh raw oil, bio-fuel includes petrol replacement alcohols, ethanol mainly, so plants for that need space to be grown too...

I was told there was a supplier of bio-diesel in Heckmondwike, but you have to go with your own cans, and he sells it for 80p ltr, now i havent seen the person responsible for said advice for a couple of weeks, when i find out i will let you know, unless someone already knows.
