The fail was expected as it's not running well at the moment and as expected failed on emmissions.
However, it also failed on inner wing needing welding under the brake servo, a fog light bulb 8-[
Drop arm ball joint and opposite track rod end. I tried getting the drop arm off prior to the last MOT and broke a puller trying so put half a new kit in the drop arm instead. This time it's going in to the garage top get both of these done!.
Oh yeah... and the loss of perfermance is partly down to expensive fuel dribbling out of the engine bay mounted fuel filter... better get that bit fixed fast!
They also found a few non-MOT things though.
The rear prop shaft bolts are loose at the handbrake
The front prop is goosed... loads of movement in the splines... only a matter of time before it goes proper... so I'm on the hunt for a replacement [-o<
With a bit of luck, this time next Wednesday, I'll have a valid ticket again.

Mines going in on Weds. It will be the first one with this vehicle so it's always worrying.
Wish me luck,
David

Thanks BigA... good luck with yours!
All of the work I'm doing is now done, the garage will tackle the steering drop arm and track rod end, as well as a new vacuuim unit for the dizzy as discovered that is goosed also!
Whilst welding up the wheel arch... or rather the important half... (lot's more welding to do down there it turns out! )... took the wing off which meant disconnecting the bulb holde from the lens for the repeater. Putting it back together yesterday... and the bulb has gone! Have to get that replaced before Wednesday then!
Only concern now is the emmissions... cos even with new filters and spark plugs (dizzy cap & rotor were replaced fairly recently) and confirming tight head bolts, she still doesn't feel or sound right... :pale:
Ah well.... we'll just have to see!

 well on the upside i have your prop in the back of my truck ready to give to hissy tonight m8

1990 dont need a proper emissions just a check to see if it smokes blue or black smoke, My v8 passed and that ran on 5 cylinders most of the time

Ben & Kieth (not forgetting the Hissmeister!) thanks for the support.
Ben.... think I might need to look into that little nugget... Now everything is computerised I thought what it needed was driven by the machine...

No problems mate,
yes the computer tells the Tester what to do when they run through the checks
