Post by: flash42 on March 31, 2008, 17:56:54

just wondering how difficult said task is.

just need to get power to it which is easy enough and mount the aireal somewhere and run the wire through the the CB.

it is relatively easy to do.

THUNDERPOLE :D

Get them to stick you a cig lighter plug on it, almost foolproof.

hi

Yes they are. forget the fag lighter socket a CB needs a good connection to work well so hard wire it, The antenna need Free Space to get best reception mount it a high as you can best in centre of vehicle front or back, if you go for the rear you will need about 6meters of coax for a LR90. MOST IMPORTANT DO NOT TRANSMIT ON A CB WITHOUT THE ANTENNA CONNECTED YOU WILL BLOW YOUR RIG!!  If this is not enough log on to firestick.com go to the tech help.

easy as eating an apple pie, i think

no but seriously just wire power to it and an aerial to ot and you can transmit and receive, you might want to think about where you put your arial, the only issue i had was that the radio was picking up interferance from the engine because of the particular power source i used, if you want a photo of its location give me a pm, if you fit it and find that you are picking up interferance and people are having trouble listening to yyour convo give me a pm and ill send you the parts you need to sort it, unless those space ships catch up with me first

cheers kieran, best of luck

Talk to 4x4 CB. They are the friendlist most helpfull people in the game.

Installation is easy, setting up is an art of knowledge. People say things like "pre set" Bull it's not as i found out so you need the right advice and kit. A friend with CB and knowledge is ideal. I had all sorts of probs with "pre set kit" that I brought as not at all set.
