I got a Text message from T-mobil last night... Thank you for requesting an additional line it is now active"
Someone in T-mobile set up an additional line and sent out a new mobile phone on my account. :shock:
I have spoken to T-mobile and they have no idea how this could happen, worst bit they could not cancel it untill I send the new one back..
I smell a rat...
It happened on the 31st of the month... do you think someone in their call center was trying to hit their end of the month target.
If this isn't sorted soon, Ill bombard them with e-mails and phone calls. :twisted:

If they have done this without your permission and you're convinced that it isn't a genuine mistake, I would suggest switching from T Mobile. I'm not sure how it would stand up but I'd argue that their actions here are in breach of the contract you both agreed to, so you should be free to move your mobile supplier.

Could be a cock-up, someone else wanted another 'phone and they types in the wromg account number. I've had it happen with all sorts of things, the worst being when I paid my credit card and the bank put the money into my dad's account, then froze my card and left me stranded with no money and no way of getting to work.
More recently I had a reminder form my insurance company about a car I didn't own.

Without wishing to scare monger this could be a sign of "ID Theft" someone may have got yor bill (out your bin) and tried to order a phone to a second address as in "can you deliver it to work".
You may get better respose with T-mob if you persue the vitim of ID theft route as its not fashionable to be slack with that.
Also I STRONGLY suggest you keep an extra eye on all your bank statements and other such bills for the next few months, but lets just hope its an "honest cock up"
The other thing to be aware of is that the text may not be from T-Mob at all and could be form someone else. Allways phone the cusotmer services numbers on your bills and not the text if you get something like this.
Good luck sorting it out.

I know what you are saying... T-mobile have admitted the mistake and the new phone arrived, I have a special delivery bag to send it back in. They even admitted that I was probably right about someone hitting targets! :shock:
I explained to the chap on the phone that this is "Obtaining money Deception" which is a criminal offence :shock: :lol: He did squirm a bit then asked me what I did for a living... he thought I was a lawyer :-> :evil: :lol:

Well the Saga Continues...
Not only did T-mobile set up a new phone line and contract but the Sent my details, Bank details to some Phone Insurnace company and set up a direct debit for £9 a month :shock:
Oh yes i'm real peeved now, got on to their customer services and cancelled the insurance policy, spoke to my bank and cancelled the direct debit.
I then got onto T-mobile and requested they cancell my contract as the have breached it as well as breaching the Data protection act., but they are not having any of it...so I not going to give up. :evil: :twisted: :evil: :evil:

Think the time has come to go for the heavy approach - get in touch with Watchdog/Which/any other consumer protection body you can. The threat of high profile bad publicity will often do wonders for shifting jobsworth bureaucrats!
