I have bought some heated electric leather seats for my rangie
The drivers seat has memory buttons but the ECU is not there...my questions are
1:- do i need the ECU for the drivers seat to work?
IF i do not need the ECU
2:- what size relay do i fit to the seats?
3:- what size relay do i fit to seat heaters?
Any advice on wiring these would be gratefully received as i know very little about electrics
Thanks in advance Jim

Hmmmm. The swithces were unaltered for the memory seats except the extra buttons, so you rewire them as non-memory. The ECU s change hands for daft money and are a PITA, so you don't want one on the car.
What you need to do is rewire the switch to the motor pack under the seat, the switch is up to running the motors but I don't know about the wiring on the memory seats.
Originally there was all manner of clever relay based logic to stop the seats moving on their own whilst you are driving, but you don't need that. Wire the setas to either an ignition or the battery direct via a fuse and the heated seat switches to the ignition.

So.....As they are without the ECU the drivers seat will not work?
Can anyone help with the wiring please?
As i know about as much about electrics it would only just fill half the back of a stamp

If the ECU is missing you are going to need to do some work.
I have one to do myself soon, how desperate are you to know?

I'll try to remember to take pictures.
Meanwhile the passenger eat should Work ok, you need 2 fused supplies to it and one earth, you should have a plug with 3 male spades in it. The little black one with 2 small spades is for the heated element, just connect to a switch as they have an internal thermostat pre-set.

Yeah cool
Should i use a relay in the line to either motors or heater?
Or is that just over kill!!!

A relay is no use for the motors but you need a 20amp fuse, the heaters, well that depends on what switches you use really, I can't remember what fuse they take though but it's not that big.
The only time you see relays in the electric seat supply is so that they are only powered up with the ignition or when the driver's door is open.
