I fitted a new bit of kit today. Not finished, but it will look cool when it is. Can you guess what it is?

you have a rather gay lightbar on it?

Why is it Gay?? :?
-
Its the smallest light bar ever  Took me a while to see it!
-
No reason for it to be 'gay' because its small.
Will be interesting to see what its like at night?
-
I think it's Gay because it's not a big hard manley one ;)
However it will offer a lot less wind resistance therfor the car will go faster making it manley :D
and ditto I would like to see how much light it gives out..
-
Its made from Thickwalled Stainless. I used one of the many bulky ones as a pattern. It doesnt stick out 6" like most of the ones you can buy. And you cant see it from the drivers seat either. All the ones i have seen fitted obstruct the view. I dont see why it has to be big and bulky to not be gay.
You could say that a 90 is Gay, because its only half a Land Rover. But that just isnt cricket.

It doesnt have any lights on it yet. I was hoping someone could recommend some low profile ones. I used to have 4 100w 9" wipacs on my 110. But i dont want to keep ripping them off.

from the picture it looks like a row of led's
I've just got some pilot marrine lights , all cast ali and very good quality .
made for boats really but they look real cool and give amazing light .
not cheap though :(
-
How about fitting some landing lights from light aircraft?
:D

my mum always told me never to leave the landing light on [-X [-X
save the planet etc etc... ;)

I'm a bit puzzled by the comment "All the ones i have seen fitted obstruct the view." - mine is the standard Paddock one and you can't see it from inside the car unless you lean right over the steering wheel and look up. It obviously fits in the "envelope" created by the shape of the roof above the windscreen as it doesn't stick up above the roofline either.

Maybe then i havnt seen one of the Paddock ones. The one i used as a pattern is an unknown make.

Mine is the same and very solid with 4 ring lamps on it.

I want a reasonable amount of light. But keep the lamp small, and oval preferably.

I'm looking at Hella FF50's.
My only comment about the bar (nothing about it being gay!) is that all of them that mount across the front throw light on the bonnet. This makes the light less effective because your eyes react to the reflected light rather than the distance. I'll be mounting my lamps on the second bar back on my external cage. The front of the roof then throws a shadow on the bonnet so your eyes don't react to the brightness close up.
I wrote that pretty badly, but does it make sense?

I have deflectors being made, once i have chosen my lights. :)

Aha! Clever :D

Right. Ive decided i like the look of these. But they are £200. Does anyone know if there is an equivalent light, but not as expensive? They dont have to be hd obviously.
