my car failed its mot due to high hydrocarbon emissions, so it went into a garage, basically all the cylinders leak, 2 of them at 80% possible valve problem, theres a slight airleak on the inlet manifold and the spark plugs are in apoor condition. So they want atleast £1600 to fix it all (the car isnt worth that much)
so iv decided to cut my losses and scrap it, but what can i do with it apart from sell the accessories?
:'(

Surely your better off just chucking another engine in it.
there cheap enough nowadays.
What engine are you running? i will have a 3.5 up for grabs soon.

Change the plugs, change the Oil, change the air filter (or possibly even take it out for the test) and try again.
For not a lot of cost you might just get another year out of it and time to decide better what to do.

If it's valves then about £100 for new gaskets and some valves, probably the exhaust.
Good news is it will run so much better for doing it.
Or chuck another engine in there.
Was it way out, if not then maybe a change of oil will do the trick.

change oil and get it very hot before the test this gets them through usually
