just rebuilt me g/box fitted it and had trouble lining the box up ,anyway a lot of sweat and it went in. trouble is the clutch dont clear. new valeo unit. bled the hydrolics. any ideas? alan....

The clutch pedal might still be adjustable on your model, other than that it's going to be the pkate dragging on the splines, the splines are pressed andsometimes there's atiny bit of flash on the edges of the teeth that make the plate drag. It might improve with time but I always dress them with a file and check for free movement before i assemble the clutch.
Alternativley if th pedal feels spongey it might be worth reviewing you bleeding technique, these things are a PITA to do and I usually get a mate to help.

checked the splines as you said are all o.k. clutch feels o.k but just dont clear by a lot. think im going to try to source a way of actuaing the clutch with a lever to iliminate the hydrolics. i know they can be a pig to bleed. but it was o.k when i took it apart. otherwise there might be a cheap disco going. i seriously need at least one reliable motor . thanks alan....

box out and fitted new spiggot bush ,now going back in 2nd time lucky. have sort of tried it . seems o.k now. cheers. alan....

Ah, you're thinking the sp[igot got damaged :-k
Good point, I'm also used to Fords where the bearing is a roller bearing, on the V8 I've found if you aren't brave enough to put some grease intot he bearing it does drag a touch now you mention it, but it went away (as well as it will do on the LT77).
