Title: Range rover electrical problems, help please!!!
Post by: tjsj on April 19, 2008, 23:54:09
Hi guys, I haven't been on in a while but I have just bought a 3.9 efi Range Rover with a couple electrical problems:

The leccy windows didn't work - Fixed with a fuse!
Headlights - Only get one sidelight regardless of what position the switch is in.
Starter motor - Worked ok when I went to look at it but just makes a very quiet click when I try cranking it, battery is good.

Just wondering if anyone might know of a solution for any of these. The rangie has been sitting for over a year and apparently it all worked ok when it was parked up??!

Cheers,
Tom

Click on starter is either a weak battery/dodgy connection or the solenoid is well stuck.

Sidelights, there are 2 fuses, one each side.

As said by RRB, also worth checking earth straps from block to chassis/body.  Side lights; could just be a bulb or corroded connector.
