Hi there guys and gals, have ordered my new toy and was after a little advise. i will very soon be the owner of a new defender 110 double cab. i really want to know what the biggest or best tyre size for it at standard height. have thought 255/85 16 (bfg muds)  but dont know if these will clear the archs :help:

255/85/16 tend to be accepted as the biggest you can fit without a lift. 235/85/16 or 265/75/16 will also work depending on what you are looking for. I have 285/75/16 on my Double cab but these are too big really on standard height and standard wheels.

265/75/16 with spacers are fitted to my 110 csw and they look great.I was told that this is the biggest you can really go until they start catching stuff

If buying new then be careful about fitting non-spec tyre sizes.
My reasoning? In the event of a failure on any part of the steering, axle or even the transmission they can use it as a reason not to pay out even if it is likely that the oversized tryes had no influence on the problem.
