Can anyone tell me whether a non-working rear wiper is an MOT failure?
I can think of other things to spend £90 on rather than a new wiper motor at the mo.
-
mine passed with a duff rear wiper but i'm not sure if he just missed it.
-
Don't think so but just take the arm off if your concerned.
I've never been asked to test it.
Paul will be along soon.

i had an old escort years ago and it failed cos the rear wiper didnt work
removed offending wiper arm and motor, it passed the test
although the mot chap didnt like me, which probably went against me
-
As far as i recall, they only check the front blades and mechanism etc washers

The rear one is not part of the MOT.

If he does question it,
Point him in the direction of Section 8.2 of the MOT Testers Manual.
