Title: MOT question
Post by: Mace on February 11, 2005, 13:20:36
Can anyone tell me whether a non-working rear wiper is an MOT failure?

I can think of other things to spend £90 on rather than a new wiper motor at the mo.

Don't think so but just take the arm off if your concerned.
I've never been asked to test it.
Paul will be along soon.

i had an old escort years ago and it failed cos the rear wiper didnt work

removed offending wiper arm and motor, it passed the test

although the mot chap didnt like me, which probably went against me

If he does question it,

Point him in the direction of Section 8.2 of the MOT Testers Manual.
